I began my teaching career in 2016. I attended Salt Lake Community College while earning my Associates degree. I transferred to Utah State University's teaching program to earn my Bachelor's degree and teaching license. I discovered my love of teaching while working as a Para-educator (a teaching aid) in a local Title One department. There I found that I felt that "I could do this forever", but I often had questions about reaching the students who needed to be reached the most. I hoped that furthering my education would make all of that more possible. I am working toward a Master's degree through the University of Texas at Arlington. My focus is on teaching language to students and fellow educators.
I began my family in 1987. My husband and I have 2 sons and two daughters, all grown and with significant others of their own now. We also have 2 grandsons, 3 grand daughters, and 2 grand puppies. Our family loves getting together for dinner, movies, games, and of course lots of birthdays and other holidays. I was born here in Salt Lake. I grew up in St. George, Las Vegas, and Tacoma. We lived in Hawaii when we were first married, while my husband served in the army. Since then, we have lived in the Salt Lake valley. One day I would like to travel through Europe and Australia. I love reading, teaching, taking photos, riding bikes with the family, and swimming. |
